Description

Clark Land Resources is accepting applications for full-time Right of Way Agents to fill in the Right of Way Operations Dept. APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILLED OUT AT CLARK LAND’S WEBSITE (www.clarklandresources.com/careers ) to be considered. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

This position’s hourly wage will be $39 to $50 per hour based on knowledge and experience. Clark Land has a bonus program, 401k matching plan, a profit-sharing plan, employee retention bonus, and we typically give a Cost of Living increase each year. Although these items are not guaranteed every year, our goal is to provide a great place for employees to work and our staff works diligently to help the company achieve its goals.

Work Performed/Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following,

  • Read and interpret property legal descriptions;
  • read and understand construction designs;
  • read and determine property rights from easements (utility infrastructure knowledge a plus);
  • track and meet deadlines;
  • utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and other software programs;
  • communicate in writing correspondence, reports, documentation, and proactive verbal communication skills;
  • interact with customers and property owners on a professional level with patience and empathy;
  • work both in the office and out in the field with some remote locations possible;
  • drive to job sites in San Diego, Orange, and Imperial Counties as needed;
  • negotiate access to property with property owners for the good of the agency and the property owner;
  • communicate and negotiate with regulatory agencies regarding permitting, licensing, etc.;
  • provide responsive support service to various departments and work as a team with those departments; and
  • apply real estate laws to situations requiring land rights knowledge.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with some real estate courses. Two years of additional qualifying experience may substitute for two years of education. An active, or soon-to-be active, California Real Estate Salesperson license is required. Preferred applicants will have a certification with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA). A valid California Driver’s License is required along with possession of reliable transportation.

Experience required: Four years of experience in reading and understanding construction plans for land acquisition infrastructure projects, or in real estate, title, or surveying. Candidates should have knowledge of real estate statutes, rules, civil codes, and local government regulations pertaining to the acquisition or management of rights-of-way, licenses, permits, and other land rights. Strong analytical ability and good judgment based on experience are required to determine various uses, perform rights interpretations, and the level of risk the client should undertake. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite© is required, (especially in Excel), and experience using database programs. A plus is the ability to use the following programs: GIS, CISCO, Archibus, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Negotiation and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Highly Desired Qualifications: Extremely detail-oriented and passionate about producing consistent quality work. Impeccable level of ethics. Excellent communication skills with clients, property owners, and peers.

Physical Abilities: Ability to lift 20 pounds or more. This role could involve sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer. It could also involve walking, standing or hiking to remote properties for extended periods of time.

Location: San Diego and Inland Empire areas. The position is currently hybrid with work in an office, in the field, and remotely.
